PROJECT SUMMARY
The design prioritises the view of the sea and the city. Using light bright materials to maximise on a sense of openness. Clean and fresh contemporary style integrated with smart living. The overall design creates a cohesive, masculine character of its owner.
Using high end materials to create an understated timeless look for the penthouse apartment. The design includes a number of designed elements which conceal a sense of luxury, from back lit marble headboard to kitchen island with integrated fireplace. Lighting is introduced throughout the space complements natural materials and finishes. The wall finish in the master bedroom is a combination of warm walnut and natural stone, which matches the floor finish. The joints are concealed with strategically placed framing. The
bedroom includes a home office and bath tub which overlook the sea and harbour. The open walk in closet hosts a combination of hanging and drawer storage space for different needs. The closet is framed in the warm walnut which ties in to the rest of the bedroom. It is closed off with a black glass frame with tinted glass. The items within are illuminated with concealed LED lighting. The closet acts as a portal through to an over sided double
shower. The drainage is concealed along the edge of the shower perimeter. The floor to ceiling stone tiled shower acts as the dividing feature to the toilet and vanity. The toilet continues with the natural stone and includes a solid stone vanity. Dark timber is used for the joinery to create a point of difference. This space is illuminated with a stretched ceiling which allows even light to disperse through the bathroom. Playing with colour, light and dark, to create a connection between the kitchen and lounge area. As materials transition from dark to light it creates an anchor point to the kitchen wall, allowing the rest of the space to stand out against the strong feature. The kitchen island, white against the dark timber and marble backdrop is made to look like it is floating from the mirrored kick plate. The lounge is made to feel larger with the use of a tinted mirror on the ceiling.
